My Story
D.J. Highlanders is the artistic project of Italian composer and music producer Dario Montanari, born on February 4, 1970, in Faenza, Italy.
His musical journey began long before he had access to instruments or production software. From an early age, he could hear original melodies in his mind and dreamed of bringing them to life. Although he never followed a traditional academic music path, modern technology eventually gave him the opportunity to transform those ideas into real compositions.
D.J. Highlanders officially debuted in March 2018 with the release of "Celtic The Prequel Theme". During the same year, he explored different musical styles through releases such as "Moscova", "Mai Another Mind", and "Lory Don't Tell", ranging from classical influences to EDM and pop.
In 2019, he expanded his artistic vision with the singles "Atmosphere" and "Seoul", which led to the creation of the EP "Empire of Seoul". Later that year he released "I Don't Like Malone" and "Boom Boom de Verano", before moving toward house music productions including "The Battle of Incheon".
The year 2020 saw the release of the EP "Space Adventures", followed by "Go Home", the EP "Sweat", and the cinematic project "Great Oceans". He also released "Smoke (No)" and the Lo-Fi EP "Ireland", further demonstrating his passion for musical experimentation.
Over the following years, D.J. Highlanders developed an extensive and diverse catalog covering EDM, house, pop, orchestral music, cinematic soundtracks, lo-fi, ambient, folk, world music, and experimental electronic productions. Among his notable projects are the "Atmosphere" series, "Northern Galland", "Pueblos", "Amanda", "Mama", "Binary Eden", "Horror Park", and numerous works inspired by different cultures and musical traditions from around the world.
His artistic philosophy is based on complete creative freedom, without limitations imposed by genres or trends. Each release represents a new musical journey where imagination, technology, and emotion come together.
Today, D.J. Highlanders continues to release music internationally, building a constantly evolving catalog that reflects his passion for innovation, experimentation, and memorable melodies.
